The Windmill Stables in Barrington are a wonderful place to relax, restore and re-energise! 

I have stayed in two of the three stables on two occasions for multiple weeks with my dog and they didn’t disappoint. 

The accommodations themselves are clean, spacious, well equipped and cosy - simply home from home. The kitchen has all the utensils and appliances required including a coffee machine, dishwasher, full oven and hob, fridge/freezer, toaster and kettle. The bathroom has a wonderful large rain shower and shampoo and shower gel (hairdryer also in the room). The bedrooms have hanging space/drawers, mirror and large double or king sized bed with DAB radio. The living space is very comfy with Freeview TV that you can log into your Netflix on too.

The rooms have outdoor seating area and access to a swimming pool with is heated. I regularly sat outside for breakfast watching the chickens and enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

The stables are situated in Barrington, South of Cambridge, with easy access to city of Cambridge and walking distance to the village greens (beautifully kept and so pretty!), the cricket pitch, recreational ground and The Royal Oak which offers a nice selection of food and drink. 

The hosts are amazing, nothing is too much bother and are available to help or give suggestions on places to go. They could not do enough to make my stay comfortable and feel welcomed.

The added touches of fresh eggs, a bottle of wine and dog biscuits and bed upon arrival just shows the care and level of service and attention you get at The Windmill Stables. 

Overall, beautifully clean, comfortable and homely accommodation, with wonderful hosts in a perfect location!!

As busy airbnb hosts ourselves, we sometimes need a little break too, with total peace and relaxation in mind. We loved staying at Rowena’s. It is just as described and exactly what we needed. High-end, peaceful & spotless. We are already planning our next stay there ! We could tell that Rowena is a genuinely lovely person who truly cares about her guests. While there we booked a sports massage with Rowena… to relive our pain. We definitely felt better afterwards so will be booking one for next time too.
The guest handbook has everything you need to know about the accommodation and the area including local places to eat etc. We had a lovely roast dinner at one of their recommended restaurants. It was easy to find and the area is very quiet and peaceful… just what we wanted with lovely views of the paddocks too. This time we just needed to chill out but next time we hope to make the most of all of the great amenities they have for guests use.
Definitely 5* in every !

Since making the booking, Rowena was very warm and communicative. And was willing to answer all and any of my questions.
It was incredibly easy to find the property, and what a beautiful property it is, in the most picturesque grounds and area.  Upon entering the grounds, Ben and Rowena warmly welcomed us and showed us around. We thoroughly enjoyed an extremely relaxing time at the barn; the swimming pool and hot tub were both delightful! And we had everything (!) we needed on site. Rowena was accommodating through and through, and it felt very easy to approach her with further questions. By far the most responsive host I’ve ever experienced.
Thank you for such a wonderful, wonderful stay.

Couldn’t recommend staying here enough. Responsive, caring host. Unique and beautiful gardens and home. Nice little gym and a very good jacuzzi. Great location, 5 min walk to station, 15 min train to centre of Cambridge. Lovely local pub / restaurant with lots of outdoor seating if it’s sunny. My girlfriend enjoyed meeting their cat. A few chickens and some friendly dogs too.
My first time visiting Cambridgeshire, couldn’t have wished for a better time. Great host.
