The Windmill Stables are situated in the picturesque village of Barrington, approximately 8 miles south-west of Cambridge.

There are plenty of things to do in and around the vicinity.

Barrington Village

 

  • Lots of countryside walks.
  • Local pubs (we are 5 mins walk to the Barrington local, The Royal Oak), while there are plenty of other good options to choose from in nearby villages.
  • Cycle rides (circular rides around the undulating countryside of South Cambridgeshire).

Around Cambridge

 

  • Explore historic Cambridge and its colleges, or go punting on the Cam (the train station in Shepreth has direct links to Cambridge).
  • Walks along the river to Grantchester and the Orchard Tea Garden.
  • Stately homes and National Trust properties such as Wimpole Hall, Anglesey Abbey and Audley End House.

Further afield

 

  • Day trip to London (we are close to Shepreth station (5 min drive, 15 min walk), with direct routes to London approx 1 hr away).
  • Duxford Air Museum.
  • Ely Cathedral and its beautiful market town.
  • Newmarket races and National Stud Museum.
